Yeah. I've had some pretty bizarre interactions with zoomers on TikTok who discredit my experience as a trans woman based on me being a millennial. It's frustrating and bizarre when it occurs. When I was that age, I revered older trans women (and still do) because they have so much life experience to offer. There are few wiser humans than a trans person who came out during the 80s or 90s and survived it despite having all odds against them.

But maybe that's the difference. Millennial trans people are far more common than Boomer or even Gen-X trans people, because so many died.

We respect our elders because there are so few of them. But to Gen Z, we're practically a dime a dozen.

Many of them have literally no idea how lucky they are to have such a bevy of knowledge at their disposal. The few elder trans folks in my life are a blessing because they are so few. GenZ trans people are lucky that there are so many who have walked the path before them that they can be harsh and picky about who they choose to listen to. We didn't have such luxuries.

Ultimately it's a good thing, I suppose, but it can be pretty damned invalidating to have a zoomer shout you off social media
