"I don't identify as ___, I AM ___" is a statement that is fundamentally caught up in semantics.

Some (cis) people seem to think that identity is lesser to merely being, but identity is just a reflection of our being and how we verbalize and contextualize who we are in the grand picture of humanity.

Statements like this are just so confusing me to me. Identifying as something doesn’t mean that you’re a lesser form of that thing, and such a stance seems to stem from thinking that trans people identifying in any specific way dilutes that particular state of being.
